Since his arrival in New York in 1979, Larry Moore's work has encompassed the theatre, choral, opera and recording industries. Originally from Middletown, Ohio, he was staff arranger for the New York City Gay Men's Chorus from 1981 to 1999. His restoration of Cole Porter's lost musical JUBILEE has been performed by The New Amsterdam Theatre Company in New York, The 42nd Street Moon Company of San Francisco and Indiana University Opera Theatre as part of the Cole Porter Centennial Celebration, and by BBC Radio 3 as a 1999 holiday broadcast. With Michael Tilson Thomas, he worked on the BrookIyn Academy of Music's 1987 Gershwin Gala and the Gershwin ballet TEA-ROSE for the New York City Ballet. His adaptation of Victor Herbert's BABES IN TOYLAND was premiered by The Houston Grand Opera and later performed by Chicago's Light Opera Works. He was editor and part-time orchestrator for recordings of Gershwin Overtures, Kiri Te Kanawa singing Gershwin, Rodgers and Hart's BABES IN ARMS and THE BOYS FROM SYRACUSE, and SHOWBOAT with Jerry Hadley and Fredrica von Stade.

As an orchestrator, his work has been heard in the Goodspeed Opera productions of OH, KAY! and THE CHOCOLATE SOLDIER, The New York State Theatre Institute's productions of A TALE OF CINDERELLA (also on Videocassette and compact disc) and THE SNOW QUEEN, as well as recordings including the Varese-Sarabande LOST IN BOSTON series, UNSUNG SONDHEIM, SONDHEIM AT THE MOVIES, the UNSUNG MUSICALS series (also Varese-Sarabande), LIZ CALLAWAY ON AND OFF BROADWAY, and Jason Graae's YOU'RE NEVER FULLY DRESSED WITHOUT A SMILE.

Praised by the New York Daily News as "one of the most ingenious practitioners in his profession," his choral arrangements of Sondheim's "Our Time" has been published by Valando Music, Bernstein's "Dream With Me" and "The Wrong Note Rag" are published by Boosey and Hawkes. His choral arrangements have been recorded by the New York City Gay Men's Chorus, Turtle Creek Chorale, and the Seattle Men's Chorus.
