Diane Benjamin is a musician and composer living in Minneapolis. A self-taught composer who wrote her first piece at age 8, she took up composing again in 1992. Her choral commissions and instrumental pieces have been performed throughout the United States and Canada. Her breast cancer oratorio Where I Live, commissioned in 1999, is still receiving extensive performances across the country, and has raised over $20,000 for local women's cancer organizations. Her choral works include many pieces for women’s voices, as well as some works for men's voices and SATB.
Diane's most recent commissions include a choral work for the Brattleboro Vermont Women's Chorus in honor of their tenth anniversary, and a collaboration with a local dance ensemble. Diane welcomes inquiries about her compositions. She can be reached at DianeMBenjamin@aol.com.
